How to calculate or compare unit prices
Divide a product's price by its package quantity to find its price per unit. For example, if 2 litres cost 300, the price is 150 per litre. Comparing the same standard unit helps you identify the better deal.
For example, compare grams with kilograms or millilitres with litres. The calculator converts these measurements automatically. Weight, volume, and item counts cannot be compared directly.
How is the price per unit calculated?
The basic formula is:
For weight and volume, the calculator converts the entered quantity to a standard unit (kilograms or litres). Item counts are calculated per item.
When comparing products, the product with the lower price per standard unit offers better value, assuming the products are otherwise comparable.
